Table Ninja is a multi-tabling utility which helps players select easy tables has recently announced version 2.0 of their popular software on 15 May. The pricing model was also released, which caused a major upheaval in the poker community.

Table Ninja 2

The pricing for TN2 (Table Ninja 2):

  • $20/month or $150/annum for Table Ninja II Pro
  • $10/month for Table Ninja II Standard

The numbers ignited a storm of protest, as the current model is considerably more expensive than Table Ninja was, costing $60 per license (for one site) without any additional fees. Additionally, developers also announced that they will no longer provide support for Table Ninja as of 15 August, 2013.

Seeing the rage in the poker community, Table Ninja officials released a follow-up statement:

"Regarding TN2’s subscription model, we know this is a frustrating change but the fact is that since Black Friday and the rise of all the regional clients, the TableNinja 1 business model is not sustainable."

TN2 boasts several updates, enhancements and new features, but as far as the first reviews and reports go, it's still very buggy and has several issues, which will not necessarily persuade players to use the new application.

TN1 users will be eligible for some update discounts:

  • TN1 license for 1 site - the first 3 months free for TN2
  • TN1 license for 2 sites - the first 4 months free for TN2
  • TN1 license for 3 sites - the first 5 months free for TN2
