European Poker Awards - Sam Trickett is Player of the Year

British poker player Sam Trickett won the main prize of the European Poker Awards, pretty much justifying forecasts.
The European Poker Awards, Europe's most prestigious awarding event was organized on the 25th January in the Aviation Club, Paris. Awards were given out in nine categories, and according to expectations, Sam Trickett became Player of the year. The British poker player performed incredibly in 2011: he won the Aussie Millions High Roller event and the grand final of the Partouche Poker Tour, and cashed more than $4.5 million in live tournament winnings.

The award for the Best live tournament performance went to Pius Heinz (having won the WSOP Main Event) and the Rookie of the year award has been won by Andrey Pateychuk. The young Russian poker player won the main events of EPT San Remo and WPT Prague, and also finished 15th at the World Series Main Event.
