Ace the Race: The Ride of Your Life with 888poker’s First Multi-Month Tournament in 2024
Players are always on the lookout for the next big event in poker rooms. This time, it’s 888poker’s turn to step up. The brand’s multi-month poker tournament is here, with a brand new racing theme. Ace the Race (ATR) is the first major event this room presents in 2024, and what a way to kick off the new year. Ace the Race
ATR started on February 1st, boasting a $300,000 prize pool. However, with a tournament period of 88 days, players have until April 28th to participate. It follows a structure similar to the brand’s other campaigns, but boasts a racing theme for the first time ever.
The Format
Players must complete daily challenges, with challenges for different types of players. The win requirements are also pretty straightforward, with the following criteria necessary for the categories:
- Cash game players: Win a hand with Ace King.
- Tournament players: Join tournaments with buy-in equal to or above $5.
- Casino and sports betting: Place a minimum stake of $2 on any casino or sports game.
Unlike previous series, this series has a slightly lower prize pool of $300,000. As such, the daily prize giveaways equal to around $3,400 over the 88 days the tournament plays out.
How to Participate
The operator went all out to provide an excellent tournament with a racing theme. The freerolls you can participate in are named after racing destinations, and completing challenges wins you tickets to the following free rolls:
- $400 Monaco Kings Freeroll: Runs Monday to Saturday, three times/day. You receive one ticket for each challenge you complete, up to three times/day.
- $4,500 London Race Freeroll: Runs Sundays at 7 pm GMT. You receive one ticket if you complete nine challenges within the week.
- $100,000 Vegas Grandstand Freeroll: Runs on April 28th at 7 pm GMT. Complete at least 30 challenges before the 28th to win a ticket for this headliner freeroll event.
888poker’s Previous Tournament
This poker room has been running three to four multi-month tournaments since 2016. Previous multi-month tournaments have had guarantees of up to between $500,000 and $1 million. However, the last four, including this one, have a lower guarantee of $300,000.
Still, other tournaments, like the recent Snowmen Festival, also had more challenging daily missions. Players had to win hands with pocket eights or participate in tournaments with $20 buy-ins to complete the challenges. This series, on the other hand, has much easier-to-complete challenges.
Recent tournament themes 888poker presented were the winter season’s Ace the Slopes, the adventure vibes of Trails of Fortune, and the space-themed Galaxy of Freerolls.
