Below, we will take a look at how the bonus system works with an example assuming that the bonus you are aiming to unlock is $1,000.

About the First Deposit Bonus:

• If you are a newly registered player, you can receive a First Deposit Bonus, which is 200% of your first deposit, up to $2000. (Please make sure to check this on our Betfred room review page, as this amount might have changed after this article has been published).
  
• As every 500 points unlock $10 of your pending bonus, you will need to generate 50,000 points in order to collect the $1,000. (You have 90 days to complete the offer.)
  
• In the case of tournaments, you receive 15 VIP points after every $1 rake generated (your starting rank as a new player will be Iron). In the case of cash games, the amount of VIP points received can be calculated with the help of a pretty complex table available on Betfred's site, but we will put it simple here: after everry $1 rake generated, you will receive roughly 10 VIP points at the Iron level.
  
• This means that in the case of tournaments, the total amount of rake needed to unlock the whole amount of the $1,000 FDB is around 50,000/15=$3,333, which in itself means a 30% rakeback equivalent for the time of unlocking the bonus. (Of course, you can always add the moneyback won by taking part in our exclusive rake race to this).
  
• It is also easy to calculate that in the case of cash games, you will need to generate 50,000/10=$5,000 in order to collect the $1,000, assuming that the 10VIP=$1 rake equation is correct. (This is, if you unlock the bonus during the first month. If it takes more than a month to unlock the bonus, less rake will be enough because of the VIP level jump following your first month - see the rest of the article about this!) Considering the worst scenario, you can expect a $1,000/$5,000=20% rakeback equivalent in the case of cash games.

Basic details:

• The Betfred VIP program is built on a points system.
  
• You will receive points after every real money cash game and tournament.
  
• If you play tournaments and sit and go-s, you will get 15 VIP points after every $1 rake generated at the basic (Iron) level of the VIP Club.
  
• The cash game rake/point ratio is summed up by Betfred in a complex table; we have been working with a $1 rake/10 points ratio at the Iron level for the sake of simplicity.
  
• The rake and the points are calculated by a weighted contributed rake calculation method by Betfred Poker (iPoker network).
  
• The system will check how much points you have collected at the end of every month, and will give you a VIP level according to that in the next month. This means that your progress within the levels will happen on a monthly basis and not instantly.

Betfred Poker VIP Club

• The system has six basic levels (Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond)
  
• The higher level you reach, the bigger bonus you will receive for the next month and the faster these bonuses will unlock.
  
• Thanks to the VIP system, you will always receive your bonus based on your monthly play in the following month. The higher levels will provide you with proportionately higher bonuses.

Let's see how the system works using a concrete example:

Now we will examine how exactly the Betfred VIP program works. With the help of this, you will understand the main concepts of the system and will also be able to keep track of your own progress.

Example: You register to the poker room on the 20th January and make a $500 deposit, thus applying for the $1,000 First Deposit Bonus.

You generate $1,000 rake in January.

a) as you are a newly registered member and have generated $1,000 we can see from the table above that at the Bronze level, you will collect around 1000*10=10,000 points. As 500 points unlock $10 of the bonus, you will unlock $200 of the pending bonus.

b) As you collected 10,000 points in January, you will be a Gold member by the start of February. You will receive an $80 bonus for the 10,000 points, which you will easily unlock (with a 33% RB rate). Above this, as you are at the Gold level, you will collect points much faster, which means that you will unlock the First Deposit Bonus faster and progress through the levels faster as well.

You generate $2,500 rake in February.

a) $2,500 in rake will get you around 2500*16.67=33,333 points. This means that you will unlock another $660 of your pending bonus.

b) As you already have 33,333 points, you will start March at the Platinum level and receive another bonus summing 33,333*0.8%=$266, which will be pretty easy to play out (with a 40% RB rate).

You generate $2,500 rake in March.

a) $2,500 rake at the Platinum level will get you around 2500*20=50,000 points. With this you will unlock the remaining FDB amount.


b) As you now have 50,000 points, you will start April at the highest (Diamond) level. The total bonus for your points will be $5,000*1%=$500, which you will rapidly unlock at a 46.67% RB rate.

Assuming that you keep generating $2,500 rake every month, your monthly points will be around 2500*23.33=58,325 and you will receive a $583 bonus at the end of the month. This bonus will not take long to unlock. From now on, your rakeback percentage will be $583/$2500=23.33%, assuming that you generate $2,500 rake every month. Taking the above example, you can easily calculate and forecast your own progress and the bonuses you will receive.
