World Record Attempt: PokerStars to Organise the Biggest Tournament Ever

PokerStars aims to organise the biggest online poker tournament ever, with 150,000 players expected at the tables.
PokerStars is to host the greatest poker tournament of all time; although the room already holds the Guinness world record, it is to celebrate its 10th birthday with a new one (among others, as we reported). The current World Record was born in 2009, when PokerStars organised a tourney with 149,196 participants. The $1 event was won by German player ‘oskar69’, who cashed $50,000.

The attempt takes place on 4th December, at 12:30ET (18:30CET). The buy-in for the NLHE tournament will be $1 again and also the $50,000 first prize remains, while the guaranteed prize pool will be $250,000. Those who eliminate a PokerStars Pro will get an additional $10 bounty.

The World Record Attempt is part of PokerStars’ set of 10th Anniversary celebration promotions.

Prize Pool Guarantee: $250,000
Top Prize: $50,000 for first place
