$250,000 Monte Carlo IPPA Championship to Take Place in November

September 05, 2010
The WSOP Main Event Final Table will not be the only event worth of your attention in November 2010; the International Poker Players Association (IPPA) Championship, the poker tournament with the biggest buy-in ever, will also take place at that time in Monte Carlo.
48 players are expected to cough up the $250,000 in Monte Carlo, all top dogs, of course. Entrees include Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Michael and Robert Mizrachi, Huck Seed, Gus Hansen, Johnny Chan, Freddie Deeb, Tony G, Bruno Fitoussi, Allen Cunningham and John Hennigan.

Another way to qualify, for those with thinner purse, will be the live $1,000 satellite events in Monaco and the Bicycle Casino in LA.

Monte Carlo Championship - IPPA

The IPPA Championship is organised by IPPA founder Yosh Nakano, a poker player himself of some reputation and manager of the ‘Bike’. “We wanted to produce a high-end poker tournament that offered a big buy-in event with quality play. We felt that we could do a good job at putting an event together that would provide the best all-around player in the world,” he said. As a similar initiative was already cancelled last year, further news are highly anticipated.
