Fifteen players lived to see Day 3 of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Event #60 $1,500 No Limit Hold’em. Chipleader was Cy Williams with a stack of 1,372,000 and he also made it to the nine-handed final table.
The last $1,500 NLHE tournament of this year’s WSOP, Event #60 $1,500 No Limit Hold’em had a turnout of 2,541 to amass a prize pool of $3,430,350. The 295 surviving players of Day 1 came close to the money bubble of 270 finishes, with names like Ben Yu, Lauren Kling, Calvin Anderson, Rupert Elder and Jeff Madsen in play.

The ITM was eventually reached on Day 2 and the field melted down to only 15 players. The lead was Cy Williams’ with 1,372,000 in chips. The US player was bound to secure his largest live tournament cash, having no five figure amount to his name before. All the greatest favourites, however, got eliminated along the way, including Kling, who finished 91st.

On Day 3, the following Final Table was formed after the eliminations:

Seat 1: Daniel Cascado – 1,620,000
Seat 2: Hiren Patel – 1,400,000
Seat 3: Asi Moshe – 1,690,000
Seat 4: Loni Harwood – 700,000
Seat 5: Mika Paasonen – 1,060,000
Seat 6: Cy Williams – 903,000
Seat 7: Yongshuo Zheng – 1,240,000
Seat 8: Bijon Notash – 1,050,000
Seat 9: Yngve Steen – 1,480,000

The finale started with Loni Harwood, 4th finisher in this year’s Event #53 $1,500 NLHE, doubling up on Hiren Patel: they moved all-in on the {#}9 {#}2 {#}4 flop, Harwood showing {#}A {#}A and Patel having {#}T {#}9. The turn and river came neutral, Harwood took the lead with 1,900,000 in chips and Patel dropped down to 250,000 and was eliminated a few hands later.

Bijon Notash followed in 8th place, and then Harwood doubled up again, shoving preflop after a raising battle with A-K. Yngve Steen tabled aces but the Q-J-7-5-T board favoured Harwood. She soon moved on to eliminate Williams with queens against tens, as well as Daniel Cascado in a flip.

Asi Moshe busted out in 5th place, followed by Steen in 4th. Once again, Harwood got the scalp, Steen’s K-7 meeting her K-Q. Harwood’s stack grew to 8,100,000 in chips. In the ensuing three-handed play, Yongshuo Zheng doubled up on Mika Paasonen, the latter’s pocket kings being cracked by Zheng’s A-K hand and an ace on the river. A couple of hands later, Paasonen called all-in on Harwood’s shove.

Harwood: {#}K {#}4
Paasonen: {#}A {#}6

Board: {#}8 {#}3 {#}4 {#}8 {#}9

Harwood got two pairs and, with them, a 4:1 lead over Zheng in the heads-up.

Loni Harwood – 8,800,000
Yongshuo Zheng – 2,600,000

The duel was over on Level 30 (10,000/50,000/100,000): in the last hand, Zheng, who had managed to double up in the meantime, opened to 215,000, Harwood called and the flop came {#}J {#}K {#}8. Harwood check-called Zheng’s 250,000 bet and the turn was the {#}J . Both players checked but Harwood bet 600,000 on the {#}T river, Zheng moved all-in and Harwood called.

Zheng: {#}A {#}Q
Harwood: {#}J {#}T

While Zheng had a nut straight, Harwood got her full house on the river, worth a tournament victory.
