WSOP 2013 - Main Event - The Bubble Bursts

The field of 666 survivors that returned on Day 4 of World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 Event #62 $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event dropped to only 239. The money bubble has burst and Jon Lane leads the way to Day 5.
A star-studded field of 666 players returned to the tables on Day 4 of WSOP 2013 Event #62 $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event. With 648 in the money finishes, the players were 18 eliminations from the money. The bubble eventually burst on Level 16 (500/2,500/5,000).

In teh decisive hand, Nick Schwarmann raised preflop to 12,000 from MP, Farzad Bonyadi called and the flop came {#}J {#}5 {#}3 . Schwarmann check-raised Bonyadi’s 14,000 bet to 37,000 and Bonyadi called. The turn came {#}T , Schwarmann bet 54,000 and Bonyadi called again. On the {#}K river, Schwarmann shoved and Bonyadi called all-in instantly.

Schwarmann got his straight on the river and three times WSOP champion Bonyadi was out, bubbling the Main Event money.

In the end, 239 players remained and the field is led by Jon Lane with 2,839,000 in chips. Lane is a veteran of WSOP finales but he has never managed so far to win one; his current best result is a runner-up finish in the WSOP 2011 $2,500 Mixed Hold’em event. He is accompanied in the top 10 by FTOPS Main Event winner Yann ‘Yadio1111’ Dion, among others.

The day saw a large number of notables eliminated, including but not limited to Ivan Demidov, Ludovic Lacay, Melanie Weisner, Bertrand Grospellier, Jon Turner, Russell Thomas, Matt Marafioti, Allen Cunningham, Nicolas Levi, Robert Salaburu, Matt Affleck, Lauren Kling, Jake Cody, Dutch Boyd, Isaac Haxton, Michael Mizrachi, Bryn Kenney, Rupert Elder, Stephen Chidwick, Paul Wasicka, Erik Seidel as well as Doyle Brunson.

Ten times WSOP title holder Brunson busted out on Level 18 (1,000/4,000/8,000), when he called all-in preflop with 204,000 in chips on Sergei Stazhkov’s 4-bet all-in.

Brunson was eliminated in 409th place for $28,063. On his way out, the Amazon Room gave him an ovation.
