PCA High Roller 2013 - Vanessa Selbst Wins, Most Successful Female Poker Player Ever

Vanessa Selbst won the PCA High Roller event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas. With her current first prize of $1,424,420 she is the most successful female poker player in the World with $7,004,036 life tournament winnings.

Dealing started on Monday at the PCA $25,000 High Roller's final table. The online MTT pro Shaun Deeb was the chipleader, but huge names such as double NAPT and PPT Cannes champion Vanessa Selbst, PPT Cannes champion Ole Schemion, EPT Grand Final High Roller champion Tobias Reinkemeier, WSOPE and WPT champion Mike Watson and the cash game pro Bryn Kenney were also present at the very strong final table.

The game started on the 21st blind level (3.000-10.000/20.000), 15 minutes were left. The first player got eliminated by the 22nd blind level. Schemion opened to 48,000 from UTG with pocket queens, Micah Raskin went all-in with 344,000 from hijack with A-J, after folds Schemion called instantly, and took the pot down on the 9-JK-7-7 board.

A bit later Schemion opened from EP to 48,000, Reinkemeier 3bet to 130,000 from the button, Schemion went all-in, Reinkemeier called with 638,000.

In the next hand Schemion opened to 48,000 from UTG, to which the cutoff Bryn Kenney went all-in with 433,000. Schemion insta-called.

By the 23rd blind level (4.000-15.000/30.000) a key moment of the tournament came. Selbst raised to 75,000 from the SB with A-K, Deeb called with A-T. The flop came T-3-2, Selbst  Selbst tanked for 3 minutes than called. The turn came 9, Deeb was very close to doubling up, but the river K hit, and he was out. Selbst apologized to shocked Deeb, who finished 5th.

On the 24th blind level (5.000-20.000/40.000) Semion was eliminated, he ran into Watson's jacks with a pair of fives. The heads-up was formed when Selbst eliminated Watson with a flush.

Selbst won the tournament with higher two pairs.

With her $1,424,420 first prize, Vanessa Selbst has now the most live tournament winnings, $7,004,0036, overtaking Kathy Liebert ($5,855,655) and therefore she is the most successful female tournament player around.
