Partypoker Upgraded Their Lobby & Table Design

Publish: 2017-08-08 16:51:02

You may have been surprised when you logged in on partypoker today: their lobby and their tables look completely different. It's a brand new design for the popular poker room.

In the article where we compared the VIP programs of partypoker and PokerStars, we mentioned near the end that according to industry rumors partypoker is about to re-design the way their client looks entirely.

And our sources have been proven accurate, it happened. Starting today, this is what partypoker's tables look like - the first picture is of the old design for comparison:

The background has been changed to dark, the table is green now, they switched to a 4-color deck - from these aspects, the new design is reminiscent of PokerStars, just like we predicted. The lobby background has also been changed to dark, and the items that used to be on the left-hand menu are now available as tabs on the top menu bar.

Partypoker wrote in a post on their blog that they decided to go through the revamp after listening to many of their users' feedback and the new, darker color scheme is to favor those who tend to play longer sessions. In the same blogpost, partypoker also writes that this was only phase 1 of the update; here's what they're planning for phase 2, coming in the next quarter:
Ability to view full screen lobby
Further filter, display, game and tournament information improvements
Enhanced tournament lobby displays
Better table look and feel and more customisation options

Managing Director of partypoker Tom Waters said this about the change: “We acknowledge that our poker product needed some love. We have been working on this project for a number of months with the support of a large group of players. We have been testing the phase 1 release over the past couple of weeks and the feedback from the players has been extremely encouraging. There are many more enhancements in the pipeline and I am confident that by the end of 2017 our players will be delighted with the improved look and feel and the usability of the software. We know what the bigger issues are and believe that these upgrades will address all of those. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to feedback and suggested improvements. I hope that the new partypoker player experience is to everyone’s liking.”

Partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard said: “The upcoming software release is another step in the direction of getting our ‘dream poker room’. We see an improvement to the lobby and to the table as well as lots of small tweaks all around the client. I tested the software with a dozen or so guys and the feedback was all extremely positive. We’ve given extra feedback about how to further improve the software and from now till the end of the year you should see additional impressive improvements to the overall software.”
