Between November 11 - 14, PokerAkademia will be running the PokerAkademia Open live tournament for the third time at the Montesino Vienna and CCC Simmering casinos.
The guaranteed prize pool has been increased from €75,000 to €100,000 and the buy-in is €330, but Rakerace.com players can qualify for just $1 with our satellites!
Qualify to the PA Open 3 with $1 satellites
The main sponsors of the PA Open 3 are the Horizon network's two leading rooms, Intertops and JuicyStakes. Players can win a total of 36 seats to the PA Open 3 between September 11 - November 6, there is going to be a satellite every Sunday for nine weeks.
Players can qualify through different satellite formats: $1 satellite tournaments, $1 team challenges and one-week hand races.
In our experience, the number of participants for a satellite is between 30 - 60 players (often the same ones), which means that by playing every Sunday for 9 weeks, roughly one in three players will win a €330 seat with a $10 investment.

Team challenge satellites
In the team challenge, teams of 3 players will be competing for their seats on the following dates:
September 18 (20:00 CET) - 3 seats guaranteed, winning team receives 3 seats (Intertops)
October 2 (20:00 CET) - 3 seats guaranteed, winning team receives 3 seats (JuicyStakes)
October 23 (20:00 CET) - 3 seats guaranteed, winning team receives 3 seats (Intertops)
Hand races
We are also organizing three one-week hand races with the winner of each hand race receiving a PA Open 3 seat. The stakes or the amount of generated rake doesn't matter, the only thing that counts is the number of hands played, which means a player could potentially qualify by playing just NL2.

September 11 - 18 - Hand race - The player with the most played hands wins a PA Open 3 seat
October 9 - 16 - Hand race - The player with the most played hands wins a PA Open 3 seat
October 23- 30 - Hand race - The player with the most played hands wins a PA Open 3 seat
The only requirement for participation in the satellites is to register to JuicyStakes or Intertops through Rakerace.com. In the team challenge, at least two players from the team have to be registered through Rakerace.com.
A given player can only win one seat. If they win a PA Open 3 seat and place in a winning spot in another satellite, their seat will be passed on to the player in the next finishing position that has no seat yet.
If a player wins a PA Open 3 seat then finishes second in another satellite where we give away three tickets, the fourth place finisher in the second satellite will receive the seat.

Accomodation
If you have won a seat, we recommend some of the following hotels (close to Montesino Casino) for accomodation.
Roomz Hotel is just a few steps away from the casino and booking in advance is recommended. You can reserve a one-bed room for around €55-60/night and a two-bed room for around €55 - €80 /night.
This hotel is a 6-8 minute walk rom Montesino and is thus a bit cheaper, you can reserve a one-bed room for roughly €42/night and a two-bed room for around €49/night.
This hotel is roughly 15-20 minute walk from Montesino and the prices are similar to the ibis budget hotel. This hotel is a good choice if you didn't reserve your accomodation in time, you can catch good last-minute deals, but we still recommend reserving your room early.
