Seat 7: David Benefield – 1,020,000
Seat 8: Vitaly Lunkin – 2,470,000

With only seven ITM finishes in the tournament, the finale started with the bubble phase. In the end, shortstack Timothy Adams bubbled the event, going all-in preflop with {#}K {#}9 from Hijack and getting called by Erik Seidel, who held {#}Q {#}Q . While Adams flopped a king, the river gave a flush to Seidel.

Fabian Quoss followed, losing with K-Q to McDonald’s A-K and then Schemion got eliminated with fours against Steve O'Dwyer’s aces. David Benefield was out in 5th place, his A-6 being insufficient against Lunkin’s A-T.

On Level 21 (10,000/50,000/100,000), McDonald opened to 20,000 from UTG with {#}K {#}Q . Lunkin called with {#}6 {#}6 from SB and O’Dwyer with {#}K {#}J from the BB. The flop came {#}Q {#}Q {#}6 , giving McDonald trip queens and Lunkin a full house. It was checked down to McDonald, who c-bet to 250,000, Lunkin check-raised to 750,000, O’Dwyer folded and McDonald called. The turn came {#}8 , Lunkin bet 1,000,000 and McDonald, after tanking a bit, moved all-in to 1,950,000. Lunkin snap-called and got the {#}6 on the river to improve his hand even further, to a four of a kind.

The heads-up was set with the elimination of O’Dwyer: he shoved with T-9 on the T-4-J flop but Seidel’s pocket aces held out on the board.

Erik Seidel – 7,730,000
Vitaly Lunkin – 5,020,000

Veteran high roller tournament player Seidel soon came back to around 9,000,000 in chips but Lunkin managed to take over after that and it was him with a similar stack by Level 23 (20,000/80,000/160,000).

Seidel got ahead once again but Lunkin managed to double up, his pocket kings holding out against Seidel’s sixes. The latter was left with 2,170,000, which he pushed to the middle with {#}K {#}Q . Lunkin called with {#}A {#}5 and the board came {#}6 {#}A {#}6 {#}8 {#}4 to give him two pairs and the championship title.
