The PokerStars Big Game Returns with Season 2

Poker Videos | estimated reading time
2011. June 25.
In this troubled time of poker history, many poker shows were terminated, or cut altogether after the Black Friday. PokerStars handled the situation rather well, which is exemplified by the debut of the second season of their hit TV show, The Big Game. The first episode will be released on June 27.
PokerStars The Big Game

It seems that PokerStars is back to normal after the tragic events of the Black Friday. They paid their U.S. players, relaunched the SuperStar Showdown promotion with Isildur1, and now they are ready to continue their highly popular TV show, The Big Game.

The lineup seems to be very good; PokerStars invited very entertaining players, Tony G, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, David 'Viffer' Peat, Jennifer Tilly, Scott Seiver, Barry Greenstein, Phil Laak will all be there at the table this season. Of course, the "loose cannon" formula stays, every week there will be a loose cannon, an amateur player playing, who gets staked by PokerStars to be able to play, and win big. The first loose cannon will be Gonzales Cannon, whose name predetermined him to be in the show. Jared Huggins, whom we wrote about several times is also scheduled to be a loose cannon for this season; we hope he gets a chance to make his life even better.

The first episode of the show is available on June 27, 12:00 ET. We will be posting the new episodes regularly as they come out, because we think this is going to be a great season and will be worth watching for all of you out there. Stay tuned!

Here's a little taster of what you can expect from the new season:
