iPoker Joins the Mystery Bounty Trend in Its Bounty Hunter Series
The Mystery Bounty (MB) tournament style has taken the poker world by storm, and the iPoker network is one of the latest brands to incorporate it into its poker series. The popular Bounty Hunter Series (BHS), iPoker’s flagship progressive knockout tournament, will debut the MB feature. However, what can players expect this year when participating in the BHS?
Mystery Bounty Format History
The Mystery Bounty is a knockout tournament where you receive a randomized bounty after eliminating an opponent. PokerMatch, a Ukrainian poker brand, first introduced this format in 2022. Since then, other brands have adopted the form, GGPoker first among them, followed by Winamax, 888poker, PokerBros, WSOP US, and more.
The iPoker brand has been hinting since the past summer about its interest in the format, and now it’s finally here and part of its flagship event.
2023 Bounty Hunter Series
The 2023 BHS started on October 20 and will run until November 13, with multiple Day 1 flights and two stages. The bounty portion of this tournament will only come into effect during the second stage of the series, with the first stage being a regular poker tournament where you must survive.
The Format
This tournament is dedicated exclusively to the bounty format and has 304 scheduled events. Five flighted events are available, and buy-ins range from €3 to €1,00. Three of the flighted events will be in the new MB format.
Besides the introduction of MB, what truly makes this year’s BHS exceptional is the overall guarantee. This year’s series offers the most significant prize pool in its history with its €4 million tournament guarantee. It’s almost double what it was last year, though the average guarantee in the February 2022 series is still the highest at €13,636 compared to this year’s €13,158.
Highlights
Besides the three MB flighted events, players can also look forward to the €50 buy-in Omaha Main Event guaranteeing €10k. There’s also the €300 buy-in Mega Stack event to look forward to, which has a prize pool of €100k.
