2011. May 17.
WPT Amneville winner Sam el Sayed leads the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship. 52 players made it through Day 4. The infamous cheater, Ali Tekintamgac is still at the tables.
As we reported yesterday, the infamous player, who got disqualified from the Partouche Poker Tour for cheating using a sign language with his fake blogger partners is still playing for the main prize of the $25,500 WPT Championship. Tekintamgac finished the 3rd day with a stack size above the average. His participation raised many eyebrows; Jack Effel, tournament supervisor of the WSOP, without mentioning any names, claimed he will do what he can to not let cheaters participate in the World Series of Poker events.

Many pros want him out as soon as possible, but the German has made it through the 3rd day with 155,000 chips on the 45th place.

116 players started Day 3, the chipleader was Abe Mosseri. He managed to make it to day 4, but the WPT Amneville winner Sam el Sayed took the chipleader position from him. Although many pros are still in, not all big names had a great time at the WPT Championship, Jake Cody, Steve Gross, Mike Sexton, Jonathan Little, Shawn Buchanan, Tony G, Phil Galfond , Chris DeMaci, Allen Cunningham, Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Scott Clements, Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Phil Laak and Eugene Katchalov were all eliminated already.

WPT's Player of the Year is still open, the current leader Andy Frankenberger is still at the tables with 342,500 chips, but many of his rivals will be there at Day 4, the chipleader Sam el Sayed can still overtake Frankenberger in the battle for the Player of the Year award.

52 players remain for Day 4, 27 places are paid. The 4th day will kick off on the 15th blind level (500/3000/6000). The average stack is 423,067 currently.
