Experience the Lowest Average Buy-Ins in the 2024 WSOP

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has set a precedent for continuing to expand each year. In the words of Ty Steward, the WSOP SVP and Executive Director, “Records are made to be broken, so our motto this year is bigger and better.”

Following this goal, the 2024 WSOP shows a record-breaking number of live bracelet events at 99, four more than last year. However, this is only one aspect that promises it’ll be a thrilling event. Let’s see what’s on the table for players.

WSOP 2024 Details

The 2024 WSOP will occur in Horseshoe and Paris in Las Vegas, Nevada. It starts on May 28th and runs till July 17th. The series’ online version of the bracelet chase will also be available in US-regulated markets, like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Lower Average Buy-Ins

This year is so different because we’re looking at a lower average buy-in than we’ve seen in the last half a decade. The buy-in range is between $300 and $250,000, which makes the average buy-in $9,817. However, if you’re theoretically looking at joining every event, the total buy-in is higher at $971,856. Still, the lower average buy-in signifies almost a 3% decrease compared to the previous year.

Buy-In Comparison

During the last five editions, 2019 was the year with the lowest buy-in at $6,599. However, how does this year hold up to the other tournaments? The buy-in range stays pretty much the same, with the earlier years having it at $400 to $250,000 before it changed to $300 in 2023.

However, thanks to fewer events in earlier years, 2021 had a $10,258 average buy-in, which is a 55% increase from 2019. Of course, the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic. In 2022, the average buy-in was at its highest of $11,156, but it lowered to $10,091 in 2023.

Nostalgic and New Events

While the series will continue to host iconic events like Monster Stack, Millionaire Maker, and The Closer, there will also be entirely new events. Some events players saw re-introduced last year will remain available, like the $1,500 Mystery Millions, $600 Ultra Stack, and the $300 Gladiators of Poker.

However, new events are also listed, such as the thrilling Mixed NLH/PLO Double Board Bomb Pot with a $1,500 buy-in or the $5000 Champions Reunion NLH Freezeout. This year showcases 17 $10k buy-in events, 21 champion tournaments, 35 freezeouts, and three mystery bounty events, each of which is one to three events more than last year.

There will be six bounty tournaments and four turbo tournaments. With almost one hundred events, one of the most popular formats for the live bracelets will be No Limit Hold-em, followed by Mixed and PLO events.

GGPoker Invites Players to WSOP

GGPoker, as the official partner of WSOP, will once again hold dedicated satellites in its room to invite players to the event. GGPoker global ambassador Daniel Negreanu stated, “This summer, we aim to send 1,000 players to their WSOP Dream.” Participate in the GGPoker room and satellites to win your chance at glory in the World Series of Poker.
