Even though a lot of players believe that PS (and the now half-dead Full Tilt) are the main sites for tournaments, the truth is that besides the big tournament series, these sites haven't improved their offering at all in the past few years.

In the past months, Partypoker has been putting in a lot of effort to change and improve their tournament schedule and thanks to their cooperation with the players, they've created a fantastic MTT schedule.

The iPoker network is also a great choice, in addition to the countless micro/low stakes tournaments players can also find great value mid/high stakes tournaments.

The smaller field sizes and the increased ROI (thanks to the weaker players) massively decreases the variance, so these rooms are ideal for players who have a hard time dealing with big swings.

Partypoker

Before we take a look at the schedule, it's important to note that in addition to these tournaments, players can also participate in the $5,000,000 guaranteed Powerfest tournament series from February 21!

Micro/low stakes players can find tournaments from just $0,01 in No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, PLO Hi-Lo and FL 7 Card Stud formats. The smaller tournaments typically run with 50-300 player fields, but there is also something for players who are ready to battle a bigger field to win a massive prize.

For example ''The Jab'' runs every day from 20:00 (GMT+1) with a $5,50 buy-in, a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool and a deep structure (250bb starting stack, 10 minute levels).

In the medium stakes players can find tournaments between $22 - $55 from most of the formats mentioned above. The $22 tournaments are great for players who prefer smaller fields, these tournaments start every 30-60 minutes with $1,000 - $5,000 guarantees.

''The Contender'' runs with a $22 buy-in and a $20,000 guarantee, but ''The Counterpunch'' ($55 buy-in, $5,000 guaranteed) and the $10,000 guarantee $55 rebuy are also great value tournaments.

Partypoker's high stakes schedule is possibly the best in the market, in the $109 tournaments players can compete for huge prize pools in much smaller (and much less skilled) fields. The structures also offer plenty of deep stack action, most of the tournaments run with 250bb starting stacks and 15 minute blind levels, so players don't have to fear being shortstacked after an early misstep.

From the $109 tournaments both ''The Weigh-In'' ($20,000 guaranteed) and ''The Uppercut'' ($50,000 guaranteed) provide excellent value and the $150,000 guaranteed Main Event (held every Sunday) is an absolute must-play!

High stakes players can participate in the $530 buy-in High Roller ($30,000 guarantee during weekdays, $150,000 on Sunday) tournaments, but they could also challenge themselves in a $5,2000 event during the Powerfest series.

As you can see, Partypoker has put together an extremely strong schedule, it's ideal both as a primary, both as a supplementary room, especially if we take into account that players who participate in a lot of tournaments have a good chance in winning a share of the $2,000 exclusive race prize pool aswell.

iPoker network

In the iPoker network players can choose from a wide range of micro/low stakes tournaments in NL Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha and 7 Card Stud formats. At Partypoker there are bigger jumps between the stakes, there are no tournaments between $1 - $5 and $55 - $109, the iPoker network is more flexible in this regard.

Much like Partypoker, tournaments typically run with fewer (and weaker) entrants, but during Sundays low stakes players can still find some bigger prize pools.

Sunday low stakes tournaments

At the medium stakes players can participate in €20-€30 tournaments that feature €1,000 - €10,000 guarantees. The iPoker network organizes special daily tournaments and has a strong Sunday offering aswell, the biggest tournament in the network is the €75 buy-in, €75,000 guaranteed Big Sunday.

Special daily tournaments and Sunday lineup

Even though some of the iPoker structures are not as good as Partypoker's, the weak field and the decreased variance means it's still worth it to add some of these tournaments to your schedule.
