The site has upped the guarantee and removed the middle buy-in tier in a last minute decision.
As we reported earlier, Partypoker's Monster Series will kick off on October 28, offering 8 days of tournament poker for the knock-out fans.
Contrary to the original announcement of 169 events, Partypoker has decided to reduce the number of the tournaments to 144, and remove the middle buy-in tier completely.
Therefore, the 144 remaining events will be split between two tiers, the low and the high.
The original GTD for the series was $2.5 million, but the operator decided to increase it to $3.4 million, resulting in an increase in the guarantees per event, which will be up to $23,611 from the original $15K.
Partypoker gave no reason for the changes, but they've already been known for being able to make big changes. Last week, the owner of Dusk Till Dawn Casino, Rob Yong published a blog post in which he announced major changes for next year's MILLIONS UK schedule because of the disappointing turnover.
