Due to a technical issue, many players will have to change their screen names for a second time on July 16.
partypoker's recent changes regarding third-party tools went live almost a month ago, requiring every player to change their aliases to make existing databases useless for those, who had been using HUDs, like Hold'em Manager or Poker Tracker.

While most of these alias-changes went smooth, the site has now reported, that some 6,000 players will have to change their monikers for the second time on July 16 at 11 am CET.
Players who were registered in tournaments on the day of the original alias changes are affected. A bug made it possible for third-party tracking sites to link old screen names to new ones, meaning information and stats about these players remained available in the databases even after the change.
partypoker's Twitch and Community Manager, Collette Stewart said on the site's Discord page:
“There will [be] no server shut down, a pop up will prompt relevant users to change screen names. We are advising 6,000 players to again change username on the 16 July to eradicate any saved data others may have saved.”
“[It’s] an issue that is unavoidable, but has since been resolved,” she added.
Even though the HUD-ban hasn't affected the site's traffic, many are strongly against the decision. Owners of Hold'em Manager and Pokertracker, even set up a site, ProtectOnlinePokerPlayers.com to protest against the changes.
In a video, they posted on their site, they try to prove, that using forbidden tools is still possible at partypoker, giving shady players a huge advantage over their opponents.
According to partypoker partner, and leader of the changes Rob Yong, partypoker is confident they can detect accounts, who break their new T&Cs.
